Fiesta ST Reveal

Fiesta ST

GENEVA, March 6, 2017 – Ford today delivered the global public debut of the next generation Ford Fiesta ST amid the most exciting and comprehensive line-up of Ford Performance models ever, at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

GENEVA, March 6, 2017

Introducing an all-new 200 PS, three-cylinder 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine that will deliver an unprecedented combination of power and fuel efficiency, the next generation Fiesta ST is developed using the same Ford Performance innovation mindset that delivered the Ford GT ultra-high-performance supercar, on show in Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition livery for the first time in Europe at the Geneva Motor Show.

Next generation Fiesta ST - The third generation of Fiesta ST will be the first Ford Performance model ever powered by a three-cylinder engine and the first Fiesta ST to feature selectable Drive Modes.

Next generation Fiesta ST

Ford’s all-new 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine will deliver 200 PS, 290 Nm of torque and anticipated 0-100 km/h (0‑62 mph) acceleration in 6.7 seconds, using innovations including a new combination of port fuel injection and direct fuel injection, sophisticated turbocharging, and innovative new cylinder deactivation technology to deliver high power and responsiveness alongside reduced CO2 emissions.*

New Drive Modes will enable engine, steering and stability controls to be configured to Normal, Sport and Track settings for an optimised fun-to-drive experience, and will also adjust the model’s Electronic Sound Enhancement technology and active exhaust noise control valve to deliver an even more satisfying driving experience by amplifying the naturally sporty sound of the three-cylinder engine.

Later, he quotes another researcher:

“You go deep enough or far out enough in consciousness, you will bump into the sacred. It’s not something we generate; it’s something out there waiting to be discovered. And this reliably happens to nonbelievers as well as believers.” Whether occasioned by drugs or other means, these experiences of mystical consciousness are in all likelihood the primal basis of religion.

About a week ago, Girl In Mind Scallop Lace Dip Hem High Neck Bodycon Dress White Light Pink XbWX31Y
published a great, brief assessment of how tough it is to make a living as an artist, and it’s pretty obvious that if you want a life of luxury then you should look into investment banking. Yet the ultimate effect of the piece is heartening. Most of us are on the same life raft. On the whole, artists don’t make much. But we find ways to make ends meet and still make art. And the longer we stick with it, the happier we get. The writer, Benjamin Sutton, was reporting on a Giuseppe Zanotti for Jennifer Lopez Emme 105Mm Gladiator Sandal Navy aOxSV2Q
released by Creative Independent , an offshoot of Kickstarter. The group surveyed artists in the U.S., UK, Canada, France and roughly 50 other countries.

What’s most welcome about the piece is how it actually showed that it’s possible to be serious–and reasonably happy–about making art without being able to stay solvent from the proceeds. Which means, more or less, that if you think Van Gogh was a failure, then you need at attitude readjustment, friend. Failure isn’t about money when it comes to creative endeavors.

Here were some of the finding:

Palm Pattern #125, Edith Bergstrom, at Butler Institute of American Art

The Butler Institute of American Art, the nation’s first museum devoted exclusively to American art, is a jewel tucked way in an old, slimmed-down Rust Belttown, which was booming when America’s industrial age was in full swing. Youngstown is probably one of the communities hardest hitby the migration of heavy industry out of the U.S. and has had to rebuildsince huge job losses in the 1970s. Once a city of 170,000 people, it shrank to around a third of that in the 70s and 80s. As with most cities once nourished by the Erie Canal (like the one in which I live), it has had to find ways to diversify its economy and attract and grow innovative new technology firms despite the Great Lakes climate. In the past decade, Youngstown began to stir with new economic life and because of its history as an industrial powerhouse, back when it attracted immigrant workers from around the world, it remains one of the most racially and culturally diverse cities in the nation. Flint and Detroit may get all the publicity, but Youngstown has to have been buffeted and betrayed by the global economy about as severely as any town in the world—and yet it has found a path forward to a new sort of identity and pride in itself. The Butler seems to assert a kind of unassailable character, an affirmation that a few quiet human virtues—gratitude, appreciation, taste—won’t just survive but can prevail in our current feverish media culture. It feels a little miraculous to walk into this little oasis of beauty and wisdom hidden in “flyover country,” among the ghosts of steel mills almost exactly halfway between New York City and Chicago, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

Game design, game programming and more

I’ve been writing about the early development of Warcraft, but a recent blog post I read prompted me to start scribbling furiously, and the result is this three-part, twenty-plus page article about the development of StarCraft, along with my thoughts about writing more reliable game code. I’ll be posting the latter parts over the next several days.

During the development of StarCraft, a two and a half year slog with over a year of crunch time prior to launch, the game was as buggy as a termite nest. While its predecessors (Warcraft I and II) were far more reliable games than their industry peers, StarCraft crashed frequently enough that play-testing was difficult right up until release, and the game continued to require ongoing patching efforts post-launch.

Why? There were sooooo many reasons.

StarCraft was originally envisioned as a game with modest goals that could fit into a one-year development cycle so that it could be released for Christmas, 1996.

The project leadership was comprised of the same folks who had started Shattered Nations (video) , a turn-based strategy game along the lines of Fausto Puglisi Short Dresses Sky Blue rxcpMzD
that Blizzard announced in May 1995 but canceled some months later.

The team members were regrouped to build something that could reach market quickly so Blizzard wouldn’t have a long gap between game launches.

The decision to rush the game’s development seems ludicrous in retrospect, but Allen Adham, the company’s president, was under pressure to grow revenue. While Blizzard’s early games had been far more successful than expected, that just raised expectations for future growth.

Given a short timeframe and limited staff, the StarCraft team’s goal was to implement a modest game — something that could best be described as “Orcs in space”. A picture from around the time of the game show in Q2 1996 shows the path the game team originally chose:

StarCraft as it appeared in June 1996 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Yeah — I wouldn’t play it either.

But a higher priority project overshadowed StarCraft and stole its developers one by one. Diablo, a role-playing game being developed by Condor Studios in Redwood City California, was in need of additional help. Condor, a company formed by Theory Metallic Detail Scarf Dress Black Fimx7
along with Josie Natori Long Sleeve Velvet Gown Black 1XuwtZlnf9
and his brother Alexander McQueen Queen And King Box Clutch Lamb Skin Black TMm17
, was given a budget of only $1.2 million — ridiculously small even in those days.

The Condor team had no hope of making the game they aspired to build, but they did such ground-breaking work in developing something fun that it made sense for Blizzard to acquire Condor, rename it Blizzard North, and start pouring in the money and staff the game really deserved.
